The University of Queensland’s Advanced Water Management Centre now has three International Water Association (IWA) Fellows in its ranks.

Dr Sandra Hall, AWMC Engagement and Business Development Manager, has been awarded this prestigious Fellowship as a recognition of her contribution to the water industry.

Originally a microbiologist, Dr Hall has been involved in the water industry for over seventeen years, and is also President of the Australian Water Association’s Queensland Branch, and Regional Executive Director for the Eastern Region of the Cooperative Research Centre for Water Sensitive Cities.

“It is a great honour to be awarded an IWA Fellowship,” said Dr Hall. “I hope that through this I can influence a greater diversity in the industry.”

IWA Fellows are nominated for their significant contributions as an engineer, educator, utility manager, regulator, researcher, engineer, scientist, or as a technical leader.

AWMC Adjunct Professor Guillermo ‘Bill’ Capati (Gold Coast Water, City of Gold Coast), and Adjunct Professor and member of the AWMC Advisory Board Mark Pascoe (International WaterCentre) have also been selected in this years IWA Fellow Awards.

Professors Zhiguo Yuan and Jurg Keller of the AWMC are also IWA Fellows of long standing.

The IWA Fellowships were officially conferred at a reception ceremony during the IWA World Water Congress and Exhibition on Monday 10th of October.

There are currently 17 IWA Fellows from Australia, of the 190 globally.
