Congratulations to Dr Gilda Carvahlo and Dr Tim Hulsen for their success at the recent EAIT Faculty Awards.

Gilda received the 2019 Faculty Leadership award for the exemplary leadership skills displayed in her role as Coordinator of the Master of Engineering (Urban Water).

The award is in recognition of the work Gilda has done taking the program concept and making it a reality in less than 12 months.

Her dedication to success, ability to communicate with influence, and building a great team culture have led to a high level of student engagement to date.

Gilda has proven herself to be a leader with influence in the water industry and has changed the way we are educating future water professionals, making her truly deserving of this award.

Tim was awarded the runner-up in the 2019 Early Career Researcher Award for his translational work on Purple Phototropic Bacteria (PPB).

The PPB work is an excellent example of how fundamental research can be done with strong application potentials.

Tim wanted to take his research out of the labs and make an impact and his dedication to innovation and impactful research make him very deserving of this recognition.

The awards were presented at the EAIT Faculty Board Meeting on Tuesday 26th of November.

It was a very tough competition and both Gilda and Tim have exemplified the AWMC spirit with dedication to success.
