  • Live Polling at the Urban Water Forum

The inaugural Urban Water Forum hosted by the University of Queensland's Advance Water Management Centre on the 25th of February has been a great success.

The forum, held at UQ's Customs House venue, was designed to explore practical solutions to industry problems. The topics discussed at the event brought researchers and industry professionals together to discuss the challenges that are facing the urban water industry.

The three sessions covered sewer corrosion and odour, next generation technologies, and integrated urban water management.

Each session was opened by one of AWMC’s senior researchers, and covered the recent discoveries made in each sector. Following this, an industry partner presented the current challenges the industry is facing. A panel of experts then hosted a Q&A session to discuss the points raised and propose new directions or solutions with help from dynamic polling and audience participation.

Queensland Urban Utilities’ Richard Petterson, Executive Leader, Operations and Service Delivery, delivered the keynote speech, covering the future of urban water management.

A short promotional video covering the long standing research innovation partnership between AWMC and QUU was launched as part of this event.

More information, and copies of the presentations made at the forum are available here.
